What's Up Weekly is IUSTV's brand new weekly news update program that brings you up to date once a week in ten minutes or less! Hosted by the fantastically dazzling Margo Andrews & Brittany Bradley, the world premiere of What's Up Weekly offers up a bit of information on Obama's big announcement, the Hurricane problem in the Southeast, Paris Hilton's latest trip up, and some statistics on IU drinking tickets this past Welcome Week.

About the Show

Hoosier News Source is a weekly television show that airs on Indiana University Student Television (IUSTV). Hoosier News Source gives a quick and exciting look at campus, local, national, and global news events. The show has an extended news magazine-style format with highlights including sports, entertainment, and weather updates. Each week, Hoosier News Source brings in outside guests to the studio to give viewers insight to certain organizations and events that take place around the IU campus

        

Meet the Staff of Hoosier News Source

News Director: Brittany Bradley

Brittany Bradley is a sophomore at Indiana University majoring in Telecommunications with a minor in Business. Brittany was raised in Greenwood, Indiana and attended Greenwood Community High School where she was a cheerleader and dancer for four years. While at her time at IU she has worked with Wisecampus.com as a marketing intern and also interns for a radio show in Indianapolis called The Marco Show. Brittany loves getting involved around campus and enjoys reading, traveling, and hanging out with her friends. Her future goals of becoming a news reporter led her to join i-Student News in April of 2009.

Producer: Mike Walker

Mike Walker is a sophomore at Indiana University majoring in Telecommunications with a minor in Business. Mike is from South Bend, Indiana and attended Penn High School. Although Mike has spent some time on-air, his interests are mostly in the production and post-production of media. After graduation, Mike plans to work either in the production or business industries of mass media.


Producer: Deanna Allbrittin

Deanna Allbrittin is a sophomore double majoring in Journalism and Political Science with a minor in Spanish. Deanna was born and raised in Mason, Ohio and attended William Mason High School where she swam competitively and was involved in numerous student organizations. She exercised her leadership abilities as the co-founder of Mason African-American Students for Change. Deanna was also a staff writer for her high-school newspaper, The Chronicle and a reporter for the television show, MBC News. Deanna loves being involved in and around the campus and hopes to continue building media experience at IUSTV for the next few years!


Anchor: Erica Beringer

Erica Beringer is a junior at Indiana University majoring in Journalism. She grew up just outside of Chicago and was Editor-in-Chief of her high-school yearbook. Erica first became involved with IUSTV in the fall of 2009 when she started working as an editor. Later she moved to the Hoosier News Source reporting team. This summer Erica will be interning for Fox News Chicago where she hopes to learn more about the professional broadcast world. Her goal is to be a nightly news anchor and win an Emmy-award.

Anchor: Eric Fancher

Eric Fancher is a freshman at Indiana University majoring in journalism. Born and raised in Indianapolis he attended Lawrence North High School where he was the anchor on the school news station. He has a love for broadcasting and hopes to begin interning in the summer. He enjoys Hoosier basketball and hanging out with his friends. After graduation he wants to find a job in broadcast journalism.

Anchor/Sports Corresponden: Drew Dubé

Drew Dubé is a junior majoring in Business. Drew is from the suburbs of Detroit, MI., but actually spent Kindergarten through 8th grade living in Lafayette, IN. before moving back to the Detroit area for high school. Involved in a broadcasting class during high school, Drew has always had an interest in reporting and being on camera, but held off on pursuing the dream for his first few college years. Other hobbies include playing a variety of sports, specifically basketball, and closely following the professional sports teams of Detroit. Drew’s future plans are extremely unclear, but he hopes to try many new things along the way.

Sports Correspondent: Emily Rollins

Emily Rollins is a sophomore at Indiana University majoring in Journalism with a minor in History. Born and raised in LaPorte, Indiana Emily attended LaPorte High School where she was involved with Yearbook, National Honors Society and the French Club. Emily always had a passion for news and sports, which led her to join Hoosier News Source in the fall of 2009. Besides catching up on the news, Emily loves going to sporting events and hanging out with her friends. She hopes to work in the media field after graduation.

Political Correspondent: Margo Andrews

Margo Andrews is a sophomore at Indiana University majoring in Telecommunications with a minor in Business. Margo was raised in Valparaiso, Indiana and attended Valparaiso High School where she was a member of the cheerleading team. She considers herself a “news junkie” and also has a great interest in politics. After joining IUSTV in the Fall of 2009, Margo was assured that she wanted to continue her plans to reach her goal of becoming a broadcasting reporter. She hopes to work in the media field after graduation.

Weather Correspondent: Kristin Lucero

Kristin Lucero is a junior at IU majoring in Atmospheric Sciences with a minor in both Mathematics and Journalism. Kristin joined IUSTV's news team her freshman year after being a part of an Emmy Award-winning television station in high school (BDTV). She won several state awards in high school and was also involved in the National Honor Society and was the captain of her softball team. Last summer, Kristin took the opportunity to join Ball State University's Storm Chase Team to chase severe storms across the Great Plains. In her spare time, Kristin enjoys being outdoors, playing sports, spending time with friends, and traveling. Along with being involved in Hoosier News Source, Kristin is involved with Campus Crusades for Christ and spent the summer after her freshman year on a Summer Project through them in Hampton Beach, NH. Her future aspirations are to become a Broadcast Meteorologist and her passions are severe storms and tornadoes.

Entertainment Correspondent: Nancy Tyree

Nancy Tyree is a sophomore at Indiana University majoring in Telecommunications and English. Nancy was born and raised in Indiana, and attended Plymouth High School, where she was heavily involved in speech, debate, theatre, broadcasting, show choir, and served as president of her school's literary society. At IU, Nancy is a member of the Singing Hoosiers, a student in the Hutton Honors College, and an Indiana University Presidential Scholar. Nancy loves music, her friends, and being involved in IUSTV. She hopes her experience in and out of the studio will help her find a job in media advertising and marketing after graduation.

Correspondent: Kaylee Baxter

Kaylee Baxter is a sophomore at Indiana University majoring in journalism with a concentration in broadcasting and public relations. She is also working toward a minor in communication and culture. Kaylee is from the small town of Marion, Indiana, and being a student at IU has given her so many new opportunities. She began pursuing a journalism degree at the beginning of this year after spending her freshman year as an exploratory student. IUSTV and Hoosier News Source has given her the chance to explore the broadcasting field. She has found a love of working behind and in front of the camera. Hoosier News Source has also allowed her to meet and interact with many new people, another passion she has found while at IU. She hopes these experiences will help her find the right career path. While not in the IUSTV studio, Kaylee can be found with her friends at any of the great restaurants in downtown Bloomington or with her new sisters in Phi Mu sorority.

Correspondent: Victoria Brown

Victoria Brown is a sophomore at Indiana University majoring in Telecommunications. She is also working towards a minor in Communications and Culture. She grew up in Franklin Indiana and attended Franklin Community High School. While in High School she was student body Vice President and was heavily involved in the student produced news station FCTV. While at Indiana University she has became very interested in cinematography as well as TV broadcasting. She recently has become involved in Darkhound Productions, and enjoys writing and directing for student produced films. Her recent involvement with IUSTV Hoosier News Source has given her the confidence to work onscreen as well as behind the camera. She enjoys doing on screen reporting and getting involved on the IU campus. Her future career goals are to produce documentaries for a network such as Current TV.

Reporter: John Elliott

John Elliott is a senior at Indiana University majoring in Telecommunications with a minor in Western European Studies (focus in Greece). Born and raised in the Monterey Bay of California, he attended North Monterey County High School where he was Student Body President and anchored the Daily Morning Announcements for three and a half years. After attending UC Santa Barbara, majoring in Communications, he then transfered to IU to finish his education. He is currently the producer and a correspondent for Hoosier News Source on IUSTV as well as a producer of the Daily Local News on WFHB 91.3. After college, he plans to live in Greece and work on the design and production of any global news source on radio and/or television, either in English and/or Greek.

Correspondent: Mackenzie Touby

Mackenzie Touby is a freshman majoring in Journalism, concentrating on broadcast and public relations. Mackenzie attended William Mason High School in Mason, Ohio, where she was involved in theater, choir, National Honor Society, and reporting for the school's news program, MBC News. Mackenzie was very involved with her youth group, and is an active member of Cru on campus.


Correspondent and Writer: Lorne Russell

Lorne Russell is a junior at Indiana University majoring in English with a Telecommunications minor. Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Lorne participated in numerous high school sports including football, soccer, and rugby and also was a member of his high school's literary and arts magazine's staff. He is also a radio disc jockey for WIUX as well as president of the National Residence Hall Honorary. He hopes that his experience at IUSTV will help him start a strong and bright future in the media.

Online Content Manager: Matt Savage

Matt Savage is junior at Indiana University majoring in Informatics and Telecommunications. Matt's future career plan is a career in the field of technology media. Matt's interests are baseball, soccer, reading and guitar.


Floor Director: Nathan Crowder

Nathan Crowder is a sophomore at Indiana University studying Telecommunications and Music. He was born in Indiana and attended Brownsburg High School. Coming to IU, Nathan did not know what he wanted to do for a career. Then sophomore year, he embraced his interests of music and production. He is currently gaining experience with production through various organizations on campus such as IUSTV and Dark Hound Productions, and indulging his passion for music through music school courses. Nathan enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and playing the guitar.


Writer: Cory Nelund

Cory Nelund has big dreams of becoming a broadcast journalist and working for the Travel Channel. Cory is a senior at IU studying journalism with a business minor. Cory is a charismatic one-man-band videojournalist and writes the script each week for Hoosier News Source. He is passionate about traveling and loves slalom-style water skiing.
