Vehicle submerged in Ohio River leads to arrest of man for warrant

The man, who was wanted for meth charges, had backed too far down a boat ramp.

HARRISON COUNTY, Ind. — A vehicle submerged into the Ohio River at a boat ramp Friday ended in the arrest of a Maukport man for an active arrest warrant, Indiana State Police said in a release Saturday.

Harrison County Sheriff’s Deputies and Indiana State Troopers responded to the boat ramp and found a F-150 pickup that had backed too far down the boat ramp and had submerged into the Ohio River.

Troopers made contact with the 61-year-old man and knew he had an active warrant for manufacturing and producing meth.

He was pulled out of the water with his truck and then transported to the Harrison County Jail for the warrant.
