Bloomington asking for residents to give input on road safety concerns, improvements

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The City of Bloomington is asking for the public’s input on how to make roads and sidewalks safer in the city.

The “Safe Streets and Roads For All” web map and survey asks Bloomingtonians what areas of town they have safety concerns or ideas to improve safety. You can add pins on the map where you think roads aren’t safe, and you can also see what parts of the city others had concerns about.

“The end user is the user of the roadway and so they’re the ones who need to be safe,” Ryan Robling, Bloomington Planning Services Manager said. “They’re the ones we want to be safe, and so safety should be their concern and they can now help in that goal.”

The city hopes to wrap up the survey sometime this spring and create an action plan to brainstorm future projects.
