JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ind. (IUSTV News) – A Georgia man is in jail and facing a voluntary manslaughter charge after a man was found shot to death at Clifty Falls State Park, in Jefferson County, Indiana, according to a release from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
Jefferson County is located in the southeast part of the state, roughly 80 miles from Bloomington.
According to the release, officers with several agencies responded to the park just before 3 p.m. Wednesday for a reported shooting. Once to the park, a man, identified as 47 year old Jospeh Lane, of Georgia, was found dead with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.
Poilce arrested 33 year old John McElwaney, of Georgia, on a preliminary charge of voluntary manslaughter, a level 2 felony.
No other information was immediately available.
