MFPD said that firefighters responded to a Hoosier Hills Food Bank on Industrial Park Drive and found a truck that went completely through the side of the building.

The driver and passengers of the truck were outside when firefighters arrived and no serious injuries were reported. Investigators learned that the truck was traveling south on the interstate when it went down an embankment.

In a Facebook Post, Hoosier Hills Food Bank said there was substantial damage, but that they hope insurance will help cover most of the expenses. 60,000 post cards the food bank prepared for next month’s Stamp Out Hunger food drive were destroyed, the post said.

“We extend our gratitude to the Monroe Fire District and Monroe County Sheriff’s Department personnel who responded quickly to the scene and helped us get everything under control,” Hoosier Hills Foodbank said in the post.

The Bloomington Fire Department, Ellettsville Fire Department, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police, and Duke Energy were on scene to help with the crash.
