IUPD investigating sexual assault involving security worker at fraternity event

BLOOMINGTON — An IU Crime Notice sent to the campus community Friday morning for a reported fondling and attempted rape involving a security worker at a fraternity event.

According to the crime notice, IUPD received the report on Oct. 17 that a security guard who works for a third-party security company contracted by a fraternity on N. David Baker Ave. fondled three females and attempted to further sexually assault one of the females.

The assault is reported to have happened between 9 and 10 p.m. Thursday night.

Police do not know who the suspect is but said he is Black male between 18 and 30 years old. The security company that was hired by the fraternity was providing security services for an event and is on the list of approved vendors for Indiana University.

The investigation is ongoing.
