BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) - A Bloomington woman is in jail and facing felony charges after allegedly robbing another woman at Walmart on Tuesday, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
34-year-old Tarea Hutchins was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, a Level 3 felony, and Kidnapping While Armed with a Deadly Weapon, a Level 3 felony.
Deputies responded to the scene at 3:20 p.m. and located a 25-year-old female victim. The woman told police that she was shopping inside the store when a female approached her and asked for money while showing a knife.
Police say the suspect escorted the victim to the ATM and forced her to take out money.
Deputies used surveillance footage to obtain images of the suspect. Police say they located Hutchins a short time later in the parking lot near the fuel center and was taken into custody.
No injuries were reported.
