BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) - A man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and several other charges in connection with a shooting that left one person with serious injuries Friday night.
Bloomington Police arrested 47-year-old Quentin R. Farmer Sr. on Saturday on an arrest warrant issued the night before. Police say that an officer observed Farmer in a driveway near S. Madison Street and was taken into custody without incident.
On Friday night, police were dispatched to home off S. Madison after several people called police reporting hearing gun shots in the area. While on the way to the scene, dispatch received a report of a man with multiple gun shot wounds laying in a driveway along E. Willow Court.
Police say the man had been shot on S. Madison and drove himself to the home on E. Willow. Officers recovered eight shell casing at the scene at interviewed witnesses in the area.
According to police, the victim arrived to the home on S Madison Street and an argument began between the victim Farmer Sr. He allegedly pulled a handgun from his waistband and began shooting the victim, who fell backwards and got into his vehicle.
Police say Farmer fled from the scene, and a search warrant was issued that night for multiple charges.
He is being held in the Monroe County Jail and faces charges of attempted murder (a level 1 felony), possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon (a level 4 felony), and criminal recklessness (a level 5 felony).
