BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) - A man was arrested early Friday morning for allegedly breaking into College Mall and attempting to steal items from inside the mall.

Officers responded to the area just before 2 a.m. after a security guard at the mall called to report a shattered exterior door near Dick's Sporting Goods.

Police say they recovered a spent 9mm shell casing near the shattered glass door. Officers entered the mall to determine if someone had made entry into the building.

During the search, police found the interior glass door to Target had also been shattered. Two more spent shell casings were recovered at that location.

Police say they saw an individual using a flashlight walking inside Target. Officers turned on the interior lights inside the store, and say a man began to flee through the north exit doors.

The suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Miller, was met with officers immediately where he was taken into custody.

Officers say upon searching, they uncovered a loaded 9mm pistol and an addition full ammunition magazine. A backpack with several suspected stolen items was also recovered.

Miller was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary while armed with a deadly weapon, a level 2 felony, two counts of criminal recklessness, a level 5 felony and theft, a level 6 felony.
