Search continues for missing woman swept by floodwaters in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ind. (IUSTV News) - The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has released the names of the two people swept away by floodwaters on Wolf Creek in Franklin County on Friday.

The body of 49-year-old Hardy Harris Jr. was found by search crews on July 29, where officials declared them dead on scene. The search continues for 53-year-old Virginia Marie Pennington, who the DNR says is still missing.

Officials say that Harris Jr. and Pennington were staying in a cabin near Wolf Creek, when the cabin had been washed away by flood waters.

Indiana DNR says that the search area has expanded outside of the original search area.

Franklin County is located in southeastern Indiana, about 90 miles northeast of Bloomington.
