BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) - After supposed rumors were 'flying' around of a possible expansion, Ed Schwartzman, owner of the iconic Bloomington restaurant BuffaLouie's, confirmed the company is opening a second restaurant in Carmel, Indiana.
In a Twitter post, Schwartzman said the new restaurant will be located in the Carmel Arts District. Despite the new location being nearly 70 miles away, Schwartzman said the second restaurant will feature the "same great food, same great service, same community-minded business."

The company's website says BuffaLouie's first opened in 1987 by Buffalo native and Indiana University student Jay Lieser. Located at the Gables building off of Indiana Avenue, the restaurant is an iconic Bloomington dining location, featuring walls of IU memorabilia.
Schwartzman said the restaurant's rich Bloomington history will be translated to the new Carmel location.
"Rest assured that the vision that Jay Lieser had in 1987 is still vibrant as ever!"
There is no word on when the Carmel location will open, but the post says they will announce updates throughout the process.
