BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) - State Road 446 was closed for more than five hours Thursday while Indiana State Police (ISP) and the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) worked to clear an accident near Monroe Lake involving a semi carrying limestone.

ISP says the driver of the semi was traveling north on SR 446, approaching Monroe Lake, when it moved off of the east side of the roadway, losing the load of limestone blocks in the process.

The driver was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital to be treated for injuries. ISP says the driver had an invalid commercial motor vehicle status and was issued ticket.

The road reopened around 4 p.m. after the trailer and limestone were removed from the road.
