2 people found dead after apparent fall from apartment building near Purdue University

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Two people were found dead in an alley Wednesday night outside an apartment building near the Purdue University campus, according to the West Lafayette Police Department. 

Preliminary information indicates that both victims died after a fall from the Campus Edge apartment building, West Lafayette police said in a statement. 

Officials identified the victims as 25-year-old twin sisters Tanya and Rayna Roy.  

Police were called to the scene at around 9 p.m. Wednesday night after receiving a report of two people found unresponsive at the Campus Edge Apartments. 

Both victims were declared dead at the scene after first responders and a bystander attempted life-saving measures.  

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation.  

“This does appear to be an isolated incident and there is no apparent danger to the public,” WLPD Captain Adam Ferguson said in a statement.
