Sean Rivers will stand before a jury on an attempted murder charge beginning Monday.

Police say on July 15 of this year, Rivers got into a dispute with a customer over where the man had parked his car. Court documents say Rivers then pulled a gun and shot the man in the chest.

The victim survived and has since recovered.

Police say Rivers fled to his apartment near the restaurant and was later found by police.

If convicted, Rivers faces up to 40 years in prison.
