CLARK COUNTY, Ind. (IUSTV News) - A Charlestown man is in jail on a long list of charges after a chase on I-65 early Tuesday morning ended in a collision with an Indiana State Trooper, according to the Indiana State Police (ISP).

ISP says a UPS driver was also killed after colliding with a semi-truck stopped during the traffic back up.

27-year-old Dylan Lee Taylor is accused of leading Scott County sheriff deputies on a pursuit just after midnight along east I-65.

Police say the pursuit continued into Clark County, where speeds reportedly reached more than 110 miles per hour.

Indiana State Police used stop sticks to deflate the tires on Taylor's vehicle, but police say the chase continued until he collided with an Indiana State Police car, injuring Trooper Justin Mears.

Mears was treated at the hospital for head injuries, but was released a short time later. First responders later discovered an adult female and a child in Taylor's vehicle. They were treated at the hospital for minor injuries.

ISP says Taylor fled from his vehicle on foot, jumping off of the interstate and onto U.S. 31. A multi-agency search for Taylor ended when officers reportedly found him on a bus near the Sportsdrome Speedway.

The crash shutdown all lanes of south I-65. During the standstill, ISP says a southbound UPS driver collided with the rear of a stopped semi-truck. The driver, identified as Patrick Dene Harvey, 24, of Brownsburg, was killed. Police say a co-driver was asleep in the truck's sleeper birth and suffered serious injuries.

I-65 remained shut down until noon Tuesday.
