BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) –Three pedestrians were hospitalized after two separate vehicle crashes on Tuesday morning, according to IU Police and Public Safety Public Information Officer Hannah Skibba.

Indiana University Police responded to a reported pedestrian crash on the intersection of Law and Fee Lanes around 9 a.m.

An IU faculty member was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The second accident occurred on the intersection of Indiana Avenue and 4th Street. Two IU students were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

IUPD is urging pedestrians and drivers to be extra aware of their surroundings while navigating through campus.

IU Public Safety has a list of traffic and pedestrian tips listed on their website.

Drivers should obey posted speed limits, remember that pedestrians who are already in the crosswalk have the right of way, respect bike lanes, and refrain from passing a vehicle that is stopped at a crosswalk, according to the IUPD website.

Additionally, IUPD says that drivers should refrain from reading, writing, or sending an email or text message while driving.
