Vehicle recovered from Indiana pond

CLINTON COUNTY, Ind. (IUSTV News) - A vehicle was recovered and one woman was rescued after a car was driven into a pond in Frankfort, Indiana, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

DNR officials say that around 5 p.m. on Sunday, first responders arrived at the Frankfort Lagoons on report of a vehicle submerged in the water.

Firefighters with the Frankfort Fire Department were able to pull the driver, identified as 49-year-old Maria Lopez. DNR officials say the passenger of the vehicle, 53-year-old Leonidas Siles, reached safety on his own.

Lopez was treated at the hospital in critical condition. The vehicle was pulled from the water on Monday morning.

DNR officials say the incident remains under investigation.
