Westfield man arrested for reportedly leaking evidence from Delphi murders case

A Westfield man was arrested on a charge of conversion for allegedly illegally obtaining and releasing evidence related to the Delphi murders case, according to the Indiana State Police.

41-year-old Mitchell Westerman faces a charge of Conversion, a Class A Misdemeanor following an investigation.

ISP says the investigation was opened in October after detectives received information that evidence was released from an ongoing criminal case.

A special prosecutor from Bartholomew County was assigned to overview the case, and filed charges in Johnson County after the review.

ISP says this is a separate case than the Delphi murders case against Richard Allen, and that further charges are possible.
