BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) - A 20-year-old was injured after being thrown from the bed of a pickup truck that was doing donuts at the Hoosier Showdown truck show, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office (MCSO).

MCSO says deputies responded to the Ivy Tech Community College around 9:30 p.m. Saturday for reports of large trucks doing donuts and creating excessive in the parking lot.

Deputies were also told that an individual had been injured after falling from the bed of a truck. MCSO says witnesses were preparing to start CPR, but the victim regained consciousness.

An investigation found that the driver of the truck, 18-year-old Joseph Mattes, was doing donuts in the parking lot when the victim climbed into the bed of the pickup.

MSCO says there was no collision, but the force from the donuts threw the victim from the truck, where he collided with the pavement and had several cuts on his face.

Mattes was arrested on a charge of Criminal Recklessness, a Level 6 felony.
