A major nationwide cellular service outage is affecting people across the country Thursday morning, particularly if you have AT&T as a carrier.
The outage has left many phones with no signal, unable to make calls or send texts, unless connected to a WiFi signal.
According to the peal-time problem & outage monitoring website Downdetector, the outage is affecting particularly AT&T.
Verizon, T-Mobile, and other cellular service providers acknowledge some issues, but said Downdetector is likely showing outages as a result of people unable to reach AT&T users.
The spike in outage reports began around 3:30 a.m. overnight. Downdetector listed Indianapolis as one of the major reported locations, alongside Houston, San Antonio, New York City, and Miami.
AT&T acknowledged the outage Thursday morning, saying they are monitoring the problem, but did not say what caused the outage.
"Some of our customers are experiencing wireless service interruptions this morning. We are working urgently to restore service to them. We will provide updates here as they are available."

Local agencies in Monroe County are also monitoring the outage.
The Indiana University Police Department said the IUPD Dispatch 911 Center and Blue Light emergency phones on campus are still operational. In a Facebook post, Monroe County Emergency Management said they are monitoring the situation.
You are asked to not call or text 911 to test if your phone has service.
