BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The Monroe County Coroner's Office has identified the woman who was hit and killed by a car on Feb. 20.
Nerissa Bragg-Leaf, 48, was unhoused at the time of her death.
As IUSTV News previously reported, Dustin Eason, 38, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident, a level four felony.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, police received several calls around 7 a.m. Tuesday about a woman walking south in the northbound lanes of State Road 37 near Dillman Road.
A few minutes later, they said several callers reported the woman was hit by a car. When first responders arrived to the area, they found the woman dead in the middle of the road.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said Eason was located and arrested after a blood draw at the hospital.
