Class of 2024 5 star recruit Bryson Tucker has committed to Indiana, per his Instagram.

Tucker chose IU over Kansas and Michigan State. The 6-7 small forward spent two years at Mount St. Joseph’s High School, before transferring to IMG Academy for his junior season, and then to Bishop O’Connell High School for his senior season.

Tucker was originally considering joining the NBA G-League’s Ignite program, but it was recently announced that the NBA would be shutting down the team after four seasons.

The McDonald’s All American is a top 30 recruit by On3, 247 Sports, ESPN, and Rivals.

Tucker helped USA Basketball win the gold medal back in 2021 at the FIBA Americas Championship averaging 9.5 points and 4.3 rebounds. During the Chick-Fil-A Classic tournament during his 2022-2023 high school season, Tucker averaged 11 points and 4.3 rebounds.

Tucker’s dad, who scored over 1,000 points at NC State and George Mason, described his son to On3’s Jamie Shaw as “a basketball player. He has great size to go with a natural basketball IQ.”

247 Eric Bossi described Tucker as “a big wing who has a pretty polished game on the offensive end of the floor. He is able to use his size to finish in the lane where he is also a very functional athlete who can get off the floor quickly in small spaces, changes direction well in traffic and has a great frame to build on in a college weight room. Where he really stands out, though, is with his ability to score from the mid range.”

Bossi also said that “because of his size and ability to care more muscle on his lean frame, he should be able to make the adjustment to the college game relatively quickly.”

Tucker is the lone recruit in Indiana’s 2024 class after Liam McNeeley decommitted from Indiana on March 8.

This is head Coach Mike Woodson’s fourth straight spring where he has gotten a commitment from a top 30 prospect.
