Roger Kerr named new Bloomington Fire Chief

BFD-01

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) — Bloomington Mayor Kerry Thomson has named interim fire chief Roger Kerr as the new Chief of the Bloomington Fire Department. Kerr has been serving as interim chief since January 1, filling a vacancy by the resignation of former chief Jason Moore, who stepped down at the end of last year.

Kerr is no stranger to serving with Bloomington Fire. He already served as chief from 2008 to 2014. He has also served as a battalion chief, captain, engineer, aerial technician, and fire fighter.

“Without a doubt, Roger Kerr is the best person to lead the Bloomington Fire Department forward. He has earned the trust and respect of his colleagues. He brings the experience of a career firefighter who has worked his way up the ranks. And, he has the skills and heart of a leader and a public servant.”
