For the most exciting and veiling Monday in a while, our weather reports have leaned towards the positive for our Eclipse Day here in Bloomington. The big issue for everyone waiting for the concealment of our sun is our potential for cloud cover blocking everyone’s full view on April 8th.
The front that has potential of blocking our view will be dissipating and moving out of the eclipse viewing area early Monday morning, with sky cover percentages dropping from 70% at 8 a.m. to 33% by 11 a.m.
During the time of the eclipse that percentage of cloud over continues to drop throughout the day with 27% by 2 p.m., a little after the start of the partial eclipse at 1:49 p.m.
The start of the total eclipse will start at 3:04 p.m., maximum eclipse starting at 3:07 p.m., end of totality will be at 3:09 p.m., and the end or the partial eclipse will be at 4:22PM.
Besides our potential cloud cover early in the day our chances of a cloud shrouded eclipse are turning into concern of the past. Our temperatures on the other hand are going to be beautiful.
Starting with temperatures around 52° from 12 – 8 a.m.. After eight we will see temperatures start to climb to 59° AT 11 a.m. and into the 70’s by the time our partial eclipse starts showing signs, again around 1:49 p.m.
Temperatures maxing out around 72° by 5 p.m., dwindling to 67° by 8 p.m. and 58° by 11 p.m..
Enjoy the eclipse, be safe and spread smiles.
