Bike to Earth Day coming to Switchyard Park April 20

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Get out your bikes, put on your helmets, and head to the second annual Bloomington Bike to Earth Day event at Switchyard Park on April 20.

The Bloomington Department of Economic and Sustainable DevelopmentGo Bloomington, and the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department sponsor this year's event, which runs from 1 to 5 p.m.

People are encouraged to bike to the event and park at one of the over 120 bike racks at Switchyard Park, the city said.

Bike to Earth Day is free and will host live music, food, local vendors, tree giveaways, and more, according to the city's website.

Bloomington Mayor Kerry Thomson will delivering a welcome speech at the start of the event.

Greater Indiana Clean Cities will host a discussion with automotive vendors about the future and benefits of transitioning to electric vehicles, and after, people have the chance to test out an electric vehicle.

There will also be a native tree seedling giveaway to grow your own tree at home.
