UPDATE: Bloomington Police locate missing 79-year-old man

2:02 P.M. UPDATE: Bloomington Police have located Arthur Heckman

2:00 P.M. UPDATE: Indiana State Police has now issued a statewide Silver Alert for 79-year-old Arthur Heckman.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) — The Bloomington Police Department is asking for your help in finding a missing 79-year-old man last seen early Friday morning.

Police say Arthur Heckman was last seen around 12:30 a.m. in the 800 block of West Third Street, and believed to have walked east or northwest from his home.

According to Bloomington Police, Heckman has dimentia and may be confused and walking slowly.

Police described him as a 5'9", white, 170 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes and a beard. He was last seen wearing a brown tweed flat cap, navy blue long underwear, a gray zip sweatshirt and slippers.

Anyone who sees Heckman is asked to call 911.
