Indiana State Police investigating officer-involved shooting

NEW HAVEN, Ind. — Indiana State Police is investigating after police in New Haven, Indiana shot and killed a man who pulled a knife while responding to a domestic battery Saturday night.

According to ISP, just after 11 p.m., three New Haven police officers responding to a domestic battery call at a trailer park off Moeller Road. While attempting to take a man into custody, he allegedly got into a fight with two of the officers, injuring them with "injuries consistent with a knife attack."

ISP said thats when the officers fired their guns and killed the man at the scene. The two injured officers were taken to the hospital.

The Indiana State Police is being assisted by the Allen County Coroner’s Office, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the New Haven Police Department. Names of the officers and the deceased suspect are being withheld at this time pending family notifications.
