ELLETSVILLE, Ind. (IUSTV News) — A bomb threat made Wednesday towards Edgewood Intermediate School in Ellettsville was found to be a false alarm, Ellettsville Police said in a press release.
Officers with the Indiana University Police K-9 unit, Bloomington Police Department, Monroe County Sheriff's Office, and agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation helped with the investigation.
Ellettsville Police said the bomb threat was made to by a phone call on Wednesday morning, but found to be a "swatting incident."
"We kept students in the classroom because the caller did not give a location," Edgewood Schools Superintendent Dr. Jerry Sanders said in a release. "To move students could have placed students and staff into greater danger."
The school day resumed as normal and the investigation remains open.
