Indiana State Police investigating death of Jackson County inmate

BROWNSTOWN, Ind. (IUSTV News) — Detectives with the Indiana State Police are investigating the death of an inmate at the Jackson County Jail.

In a release, ISP said that around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, jail staff went to a holding cell to check on an inmate, identified as 35-year-old Antonio Fox, of Mississippi. While speaking to Fox, he reportedly collapsed in the cell.

Jail staff performed life-saving measures to Fox, but he later died at the hospital.

The investigation remains ongoing.
