BROWNSTOWN, Ind. (IUSTV News) — Detectives with the Indiana State Police are investigating the death of an inmate at the Jackson County Jail.
In a release, ISP said that around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, jail staff went to a holding cell to check on an inmate, identified as 35-year-old Antonio Fox, of Mississippi. While speaking to Fox, he reportedly collapsed in the cell.
Jail staff performed life-saving measures to Fox, but he later died at the hospital.
The investigation remains ongoing.
The high temperature for Thursday will be a low 34 degrees.
The goal of the merger, which was approved by the board in April, is to consolidate the two schools based on socio-economic status and to address concerns over a disparity in recourse availability at the two schools.
Some IU Health employees will transition to other roles within the company while others will no longer have a position.
