BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights, fueled by a powerful solar storm was seen in parts of Bloomington late Friday night into Saturday.

Aurora Borealis is the result of electrons colliding with the upper reaches of Earth’s atmosphere, according to NOAA and the Space Weather Prediction Center.
