BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Road closures are coming to the area near Rogers and First Streets, the City of Bloomington announced Monday.

The intersection will remain closed Aug. 12 through at least the beginning of October.

Throughout the closure, crews are expected to install a new water main, and create a new Rogers Street and University Street intersection as part of the Hopewell East project.

The closure is for improvements for the First Street Reconstruction Project that will run between Fairview Street and College Avenue.

Construction crews are expected to replace water, storm sewer and sanitary sewer infrastructure, as well as make improvements to tree plots and install traffic calming infrastructure.

The project received over $4.6M in federal construction funding, according to the city's website.
