Police investigating Wednesday night shooting

BLOOMINGTON — Bloomington Police are investigating a shooting that happened on the city's east side Wednesday night.

Officers were called around 7:20p.m. to the area near E Third Street and State Road 446 after several people reported hearing multiple gunshots. Police talked to witnesses who said after the shots were fired, a light colored sedan slowly drove away near the entrance of Granite Central Apartments, before speeding off west on Third Street.

Police said a person walking on the sidewalk fell to the ground after the gunshots, but then stood back up and walked away from the area.

Officers were unable to find the person or any signs that they had been injured. Police did find several empty casings near the entrance to the apartment complex.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective James Ridge at (812)349-3374.
