MONROE COUNTY, Ind. — Firefighters with the Monroe Fire Protection District helped put out a large fire at a southwest Monroe County home early Saturday morning.

According to MFD, the fire began at a home on Burch Road around 12:30am. When firefighters arrived, they found the fire had already spread from a garage to the house.
A car near the home was also up in flames.
MFD said no one was home at the time of the fire, and it took firefighters several hours to put out the large fire.
The Monroe Fire Protection District were helped by the Eastern Greene Fire Territory and the Ellettsville Fire Department. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
