Two Bloomington schools on lockdown after bank robbery Tuesday

BPD

BLOOMINGTON — The Bloomington Police Department is looking for a suspect that allegedly robbed the JC Bank on South Walnut Street Tuesday.

Police responded around 11:50 a.m. to a silent emergency alarm pressed by a bank teller.

Police said the suspect was wearing a face covering during the robbery and handed a note to a bank teller, which insisted money from the bank. After receiving the money, the suspect ran off.

Both Bloomington High School South and Templeton Elementary were put on lockdown shortly after the robbery. The lockdowns were later lifted and students were able to return home at the normal time.

At this time, the suspect is still at large. The investigation remains open.
