ROCHESTER, Ind. — Indiana State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened in Rochester Saturday morning.
ISP says a Rochester police officer and Fulton County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a home in Rochester for a domestic disturbance involving a gun. When police arrived, a man identified as 37-year-old Steven Harding was inside with a gun pointing at officers.
ISP says the officer and deputy both fired their guns, hitting Harding at least once. He died at the scene.
No officers or any bystanders were hurt during the shooting. The officer and deputy involved in the shooting will both be on administrative leave during the investigation, which ISP says is the standard procedure for both departments.
