MONROE COUNTY — Firefighters in Monroe County worked two separate serious car crashes early Friday morning, according to the Monroe Fire Protection District.
The first crash happened just after midnight on Interstate 69 near mile marker 129.5. MFD said a car was over an embankment with the driver still inside.
The driver was helped out of the car and was able to walk up the hill on their own. MFD reported the driver was taken to the hospital.
The second crash happened around 3:30 a.m. on Victor Pike. When MFD arrived, they found a truck pinned against a tree with the driver trapped inside. It took several firefighters to extricate the driver.
A helicopter was requested to fly the injured driver to an Indianapolis hospital.
