State Road 45/46 reopens to two lanes as off-ramp construction continues

BLOOMINGTON — After nine months of construction and lane closures, all lanes in both directions of the State Road 45/46 Bypass are now back open.

While most of the project is complete, crews will continue to work on the new off-ramp from S.R. 45/46 onto Arlington Road, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation. Work on that phase could last until next fall.

Since February, workers have made changes to the intersection of N Monroe Street and N Stonelake Drive. The previous access point from Stonelake Drive has been removed.

A new intersection, moved to the east, now connects near the same spot as Monroe Street, but will not allow drivers to cross S.R. 45/46 to turn west from Monroe Street.

Additionally, the speed limit along S.R. 45/46 was lowered from 50 mph to 45 mph.

The new off ramp will connect westbound S.R. 45/46 to W Arlington Road.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones.
