BLOOMINGTON — A Bloomington woman was given an 18-year prison sentence Friday after pleading guilty to child sex trafficking charges related to a disturbing case from last summer.
Naomi Floren, 22, will only spend just over 15 years of that sentence after reaching a plea deal with prosecutors.
Floren—who originally faced 10 criminal charges—entered a guilty plea for two of the charges: promotion of child sex trafficking, a Level 3 felony, and child molesting, a Level 4 felony. The other eight charges were dismissed.
She will serve two years of the sentence on supervised probation. Floren has remained in jail since her arrest in July and was given credit for those 167 days.
Under Indiana law, a person who is convicted of child molesting at any level felony—whether by a trial or plea—is considered a sexually violent predator.
As a result, Floren has several conditions to her probation, including:
- Registering as a sex offender within three days of her release from prison
- Cannot live within 1,000 feet of a school
- Cannot have any contact with the victim or their family
- Must consent to a search of her computer by police at any time
- Banned from being on social media sites frequented by children
- Cannot have personal or unsupervised contact with anyone under 16 years old.
Floren must also complete a sex offender treatment program. She also owes the court $489 in fees acquired as a result of the case.
As previously reported, court documents state Floren was babysitting a 12-year-old girl when she gave pills to, molested and shared the child with other men in her apartment complex to engage in sexual acts.
Police obtained a search warrant for Floren's apartment and found prescription bottles containing blue and white pills.
Investigators also searched Floren's phone and reportedly found numerous explicit pictures and videos of the girl and Floren.
She was arrested at her apartment in July.
