Expanded bike lane safety coming to portions of Third Street

BLOOMINGTON — The City of Bloomington is moving ahead with a $107,500 project to upgrade and expand bike lane delineators along sections of Third Street near the IU campus.

Phase two of the East Third Street Protected Bike Lane Project would upgrade current delineators and add the barriers between Rose Avenue to Indiana Avenue.

The original delineators, installed in March, were installed with excess materials and covers Third Street between Eagleson Avenue and Indiana Avenue. Phase one of the project costed $35,200.

Phase two construction is expected to begin the week of March 17, while students are out of town during spring break.
