IU Administration narrows search for Bloomington campus chancellor

BLOOMINGTON — The search for a chancellor of the IU Bloomington campus is moving on with the next steps, the search committee announced.

The committee will conduct Zoom interviews with the finalists at the end of January, and a small number of final candidates will be recommended to IU President Pamela Whitten to invite for on-campus interviews.

Those visits are scheduled for February, the search committee announced.

The Indiana University Board of Trustees voted in June to approve re-establishing the position. The search committee was formed in August.

The IU Bloomington chancellor will report directly to Whitten by serving on the president’s cabinet and will oversee the Office of the Provost.

They will focus on increasing faculty participation in campus decision making, including diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, student life, and campus finances.

All other IU regional campuses have their own respective chancellors, including IU Indianapolis.

“Thank you for your continued engagement in this important process,” said search committee co-chairs David Daleke and Danielle DeSawal.

The campus community will have the opportunity to comment on the finalists in town hall meetings and online feedback forms, the search committee announced.
