INDIANAPOLIS — Republican Mike Braun was inaugurated as Indiana's 52nd governor Monday, replacing two-term Republican Eric Holcomb.
Micah Beckwith was sworn in alongside Braun, becoming the state's new lieutenant governor. Attorney General Todd Rokita was also sworn in Monday, beginning his second term in that office.
Braun and Beckwith were elected in November after defeating his two opponents: Democrat Jennifer McCormick and Libertarian Donald Rainwater. The Republican ticket won 54% of the vote, according to the Associated Press, well ahead of the 41% and 4% for McCormick and Rainwater respectively.
Republicans have controlled the Governor's mansion since Mitch Daniels was elected in 2004.
