Initially, fire firefighters believed something may have overheated or combusted in the home. When they arrived, they found flames coming out of the roof.

One person was initially missing, MFD said, but everyone in the home was able to make it out, including a cat.

The fire was under control in about 15 minutes. MFD said the homeowner reported they heard popping and crackling and after searching the house, noticed a fire in the bathroom ceiling were the exhaust fan use to be.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
