BLOOMINGTON — Road construction is planned to return Monday for a portion of State Road 45/46 in Bloomington, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Starting Feb. 3, construction crews will resume intersection improvement work and install highway lighting, which is expected to be complete in early March.

INDOT said all lanes of S.R. 45/46 are anticipated to remain open, however short-term shoulder closures should be expected.

In November, all lanes in both directions of State Road 45/46 reopened after nine months of construction and lane closures.

Workers made changes to the intersection of N Monroe Street and N Stonelake Drive. The speed limit along S.R. 45/46 was lowered from 50 mph to 45 mph.

While most of the project is complete, crews will continue to work on the new off-ramp from S.R. 45/46 onto Arlington Road. Work on that phase could last until this coming fall.

The new off ramp will connect westbound S.R. 45/46 to W Arlington Road.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones
