MONROE COUNTY — Three people from southern Indiana were arrested on several drug and theft charges after an investigation into a stolen tractor, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
MSCO says on Dec. 29, a person reported a Case Farmall tractor valued at approximately $100,000, as well as miscellaneous power tools and another vehicle were missing from a building on their property.

Indiana State Police joined the investigation and on New Year’s Eve, a trooper located what they thought was the stolen tractor sitting on a property on South Cardwell Road.
MCSO and ISP conducted surveillance and reported that at some point, two vehicles left the property. Officers stopped both vehicles and reportedly found a small amount of methamphetamine one of the cars and 32 grams of suspected methamphetamine in the other.
Tiffany Steele 35, of Mooresville, and a 44-year old Martinsville man were arrested on the drug charges.
Steele is charged with possession of meth, a Level 5 felony, and two counts of unlawful possession or use of a legend drug, each a Level 6 felony.
The man has yet to be officially charged, but MCSO says he was booked on charges of possession of meth, a Level 3 felony, possession of narcotic drug and possession of a legend drug, both Level 6 felonies.
IUSTV has a policy not to name criminal suspects until formal charges are filed by a prosecutor.
Police later obtained and served a search warrant at the South Cardwell Road property and found both stolen vehicles and most of the power tools. MSCO said an unrelated stolen vehicle out of Marion County was also located and recovered from the property.
The owner of the property, 52-year-old Troy McCormick, was arrested and charged with theft greater than $50,000, a Level 5 felony.
