Town halls scheduled for two IU Bloomington chancellor finalists

BLOOMINGTON — Two town hall meetings have been scheduled for the two finalists remaining as candidates for the new IU Bloomington chancellor position.

The search, which began in August, has been led by a search committee co-chaired by David Daleke, dean of the IU Bloomington Graduate School, vice provost for graduate education and health sciences, and professor of biochemistry and molecular biology in the IU School of Medicine; and Danielle DeSawal, clinical professor of higher education and student affairs in the School of Education and president of the Bloomington Faculty Council.

The committee completed first-round interviews and recommended the two candidates to IU President Pamela Whitten.

Both candidates will visit the Bloomington campus this and next week.

IU said to protect the privacy, the names of both candidates will be shared one business day before their first town hall.

The faculty town hall and open town hall for "Candidate A" will be held on Feb. 27 from noon to 1 p.m. and 3:30 to 4:40 p.m., respectively.

The faculty town hall and open town hall for "Candidate B" will be held on March 6 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 4 to 5 p.m., respectively.

Both town halls will be held in person in Whittenberger Auditorium in the Indiana Memorial Union and will be available via livestream.

IU said surveys to collect feedback will be available online at the beginning of each town hall.
