IU Women’s Tennis return home to put up a fight against Memphis

IU Women’s Tennis is back home this Thursday where they played against Memphis for the first time. The Hoosiers played a strong match against Memphis, winning the doubles 2-1. Doubles Partners Lara Schneider and Nicole Teodosescu won their match against the Tigers 7-6 (7-4). And partners Sarah L’allier and Li Hsin Lin won their match 7-5. 

The crowd was on the edge of their seats for the entire match. A highlight of the doubles half was Lara Schneider and Nicole Teodosescu coming back from being down at 5-4. Finishing the doubles match off strong and keeping spirits high.

When the Hoosiers returned for the singles portion of the match. Holding on to the power from earlier on all courts. Each court went on to play either a third set or a tiebreaker. The Tigers ultimately took all courts except two. Court two went unfinished and on court 4 freshman Elisabeth Dunac won her singles match 7-5, 3-6, and 6-4.

IU Women’s Tennis are now 4-6 in the season and have a long schedule ahead. This Saturday the Hoosiers will host the Adidas Classic at Indiana University Tennis Center (IUTC). Starting at 10 am, where they will face Colorado. The Hoosiers won against the Buffalos this time last year. 

The IU Women’s Tennis team will then play again at 6 pm to play against Ball State. The Hoosiers have a 9-0 record against the Cardinals. Winning all matches against them since 2006. Overall, the Hoosiers have three more matches before they begin the Big Ten conference matches. Where they will start against Iowa. The Hoosiers look forward to the challenge and are ready to serve up great matches this Saturday.
