BLOOMINGTON — A section of Eagleson Avenue near the intersection of 10th Street was closed for part of Thursday morning while IU Police conducted an investigation.
It happened just before 7:30 a.m. near Wells Quadrangle.
Bloomington Fire Deputy Chief Max Litwin confirmed fire units were called to the area for a possible suicide by gunshot. IUPD confirmed a male with no IU affiliation fired one shot, inflicting self harm, but that there was no threat to the public.

A black pickup truck was towed from the area and the road was reopened.
The area of 10th and Eagleson is now open. Resume normal activity.
