BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (IUSTV News) – The Office of Student Conduct received two separate reports of sexual battery on Nov. 7, according to IU Public Safety Public Information Officer Hannah Skibba.
The first case was reported by an employee of the Indiana Memorial Union, who allegedly had been sexually assaulted on Nov. 3 at the Indiana Memorial Union.
Skibba says the incident has not been reported to IUPD by the individuals involved, and the case has been referred to university officials for review.
Additionally, IUPD received a report on Nov. 7 from the Office of Student Conduct regarding a student who had been sexually assaulted at the Music Addition Building.
Skibba says the next day, the victim met with officers to file an official police report. The assault reportedly occurred on Sept. 9. The student has been offered support from the Title IX office and a confidential victims advocate. IUPD says the investigation is ongoing.
IUSTV has maintained a database recording sexual assaults reported during the fall semester and have counted 21 reported sexual assaults. In October alone, there were nine total reports.
